Tuesday, April 2’s MLB schedule is loaded with big-time matchups, including the second contest of a three-game series between the San Francisco Giants (2-3) and LA Dodgers (5-2). The first pitch at Dodger Stadium is slated for 10:10 p.m. ET with the game airing nationally on TBS.

After going up 3-0 in the third inning, the Dodgers didn’t look back as they notched an 8-3 win over the Giants on Monday. James Paxton pitched five scoreless innings with as many strikeouts for his first win of the year while Teoscar Hernandez recorded a three-run homer to put the game out of reach in the sixth.
Following yesterday’s victory, LA is still the overwhelming -650 favorite to win the NL West while San Francisco sits third at +1000, per BetOnline.
With plenty of betting opportunities on the horizon, the time to waste time is over. Let’s get into my Giants vs. Dodgers MLB prediction and best bets.

Giants vs Dodgers Prediction & MLB Picks Today (4/2): Will LAD Clinch Series?
It goes without saying that the Giants need more of a complete effort if they want to even the series tonight. Although they only finished with one fewer hit than the Dodgers last night, the Giants didn’t get on the board until the sixth inning. It was only a few moments after that when Hernandez hit his three-run shot, firmly putting the game out of reach.
Having said that, struggling in Los Angeles isn’t new for the Giants, who’ve dropped 13 of their last 18 trips to Dodger Stadium dating back to the 2021 season. They’ve also lost three straight road games to the Dodgers in lopsided fashion, getting outscored 18-5 on aggregate.
What makes matters even worse is that San Francisco is 3-7 SU across its 10 previous NL West matchups.
Nevertheless, limiting the Dodgers’ attack won’t be easy. Los Angeles boasts one of the MLB’s most potent lineups as it ranks first in hits, first in home runs, second in walks, and sixth in batting average while being tied for fourth in on-base plus slugging percentage.
Few teams have been able to slow down the Dodgers’ offense this season. Will the Giants be one of them?
Unfortunately, the Giants’ pitching staff has left much to be desired this season. Not only does their 6.62 team ERA rank fourth-worst in the Majors, but they also sit 25th in hits allowed, tied for 28th in earned runs allowed, 27th in opponent home runs, and 27th in opposing batting average.
In other words, it’ll be interesting to see if Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb can shut the Dodgers down. The talented righty struck out five batters with two runs given up across six innings against the San Diego Padres last week. At the same time, he’s 2-3 with a 4.82 ERA in his last five starts against Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers are rolling with their bullpen tonight as they push Tyler Glasnow’s start to Wednesday, per team insider Eric Stephen. Stephen adds that Ryan Yarbrough, who has zero earned runs allowed with two Ks across 4 2/3 innings, could potentially see most of the work today.
Dodgers starting pitcher for Tuesday still TBA
Ryan Yarbrough and Michael Grove will be available for “some length,” Roberts said

After yesterday’s blowout, I predict that the Dodgers will win tonight. The Giants are struggling to win games at Dodgers Stadium and last night’s loss only further highlights that fact. Given that Webb has had some bad luck with this NL West rival, too, I’d be shocked if LA doesn’t go up 2-0 in this series.
I also like the Dodgers at -1.5 on the run line. Not only did it win by five runs last night, but they’re also 6-2 SU with five multi-run wins in their last eight encounters with the Giants. Doing the math, it’s easy to imagine LA winning in a big way at home.

Best Giants vs Dodgers MLB Player Prop (4/2)
It’s hard to go wrong when betting on Mookie Betts this season, hence why I’m taking him to tally over 1.5 total bases as the best Giants vs. Dodgers player prop bet. The odds are down on BetOnline, though, meaning we’re taking things to Bovada.
Betts has been one of baseball’s best players all year, leading the MLB in hits, home runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and, of course, total bases. The former AL MVP has racked up at least two TBs in five of seven outings thus far, tallying a total of 30 to begin the season — an average of 4.3 per game.
After finishing with five total bases less than 24 hours ago, you can’t afford to miss this Betts prop tonight.
