Giants vs Cardinals Preview
These two teams faced off in late April in California, where the Giants took 3 of 4 from the Cardinals. However, the Giants only outscored the Cardinals 16-13 in that series. Each team walked away with a shutout victory.
Tonight begins a new series, and both teams will look to start off on the right foot.
The Giants are coming off a 13-3 win against the Cubs, that included a Hall of Fame outing from Joc Pederson. The Cardinals are coming off two home losses to the Reds at the hands of young stud, Elly De La Cruz.
Last night they lost in comeback fashion as Adam Wainwright gave up 1 ER in the Top of the 6th and the bullpen gave up the winning run in the Top of the 8th. Another heartbreaking loss in front of their hometown fans,
Let’s take a look at the matchup at hand!

Giants vs Cardinals Prediction & Best Bet
SF/STL Over 8 (-110)
I absolutely love this play and think we could see double digit runs easily. The Giants are coming off a 13 run game where their bats were firing on all cylinders.
Throw that lineup up against Liberatore who hasn’t looked solid since his first start this year. After his one start, he got moved to the bullpen for a few games before returning to the rotation. His last two starts have not gone well.
In 5 innings, he gave up the same number of hits and 4 Earned Runs while only recording 2 strikeouts. In his most recent outing, the Rangers knocked 7 hits in 4 innings while scoring 4 runs. Again, Liberatore was only able to strikeout two batters.
I think the Giants shouldn’t have any trouble getting to the Cardinals’ young starter early and producing some runs.
Player Props
Matthew Liberatore over 4.5 Hits Allowed (-164)
This pick is juicy and a little harder to find, but it’s hitting regardless. Feel free to use it as a pair of a two-teamer, or simply pay the juice man like me.
Liberatore is making just his 4th start this year after spending some time in the bullpen.
He had a brilliant MLB debut, but has fallen off since. Teams have been able to put the ball into play and score some runs against him.
I think this Giants team can do that tonight.
I think 5 hits could easily happen during the first lineup rotation. The Giants are coming off a 13 run, 15 hit offensive showcase where every single batter recorded a hit, and nearly every batter scored a run.
I think the offense continues tonight against Liberatore.
