Few teams have had the better of the Los Angeles Dodgers this season, but they ran into one last week in the Philadelphia Phillies. This weekend, the Dodgers will get a chance to turn the tables on the Phillies as the two teams tangle for three, starting tonight.
In last week’s four-game series at Dodger Stadium, the Phillies took the first three games, with the home team needing a late rally in Sunday’s finale to avoid being swept. It was the Dodgers’ first home series loss since losing two of three to the Colorado Rockies late last August.
The World Series favorites promptly took out their frustration on the poor Arizona Diamondbacks in a four-game sweep, so they head into the Dodgers vs. Phillies rematch with the ship righted and then some, while this weekend’s home team enters the series after dropping two of three at home to the San Diego Padres.
In tonight’s opener at Citizens Bank Field, two talented arms will take the hill, with Julio Urias looking to even his season record at .500 and Ranger Suarez aiming for his fifth win of the season.

Will Urias Fare Better in Rematch with Phillies?
After being the only 20-game winner in MLB last season, there were high expectations for Urias this season.
After getting shelled at Colorado in his first start of the season, Urias produced four strong starts in a row, going 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA in that stretch. However, he comes into this start with back-to-back losses to the Pirates and Phillies.
Against the Pirates, he tied a career-high with 11 hits allowed, though the Pirates only managed two runs in his six innings. That was enough to saddle him with the loss, as the Dodgers managed only one run all game, but it could have been worse.
Speaking of worse, worse is what happened against the Phillies this past Saturday, as he allowed a career-worst four homers and eight runs in six innings of the Dodgers’ 8-3 loss.
But history favors a bounce-back performance for Urias. In 13 career starts following a start in which he allowed four or more runs, Urias has a 2.07 ERA, with 16 earned runs allowed in 69.2 innings.
Six of those runs came in one outing, in which he allowed seven runs (six earned) in 2.1 innings against the Miami Marlins exactly five years ago today. Take away that start, and that ERA drops to 1.34.
Along with the sparkling ERA, results in those games have been pretty good for the Dodgers, who are 10-3 in those 13 starts.

Dodgers vs. Phillies Best Bets: Dodgers ML (-138 at BetOnline)
Suarez had the better of this matchup last weekend, as he allowed three runs, five hits, and a walk and struck out six in seven innings.
That solid showing at Dodger Stadium was more in line with Suarez’s splits this season, as he has been better on the road (3-0, 2.50 ERA in three starts) than at home (1-1, 4.91 ERA in four starts).
Look for Urias to continue his career trend of bouncing back well from poor starts and for the Dodgers to notch a series-opening win tonight in Philly.
