Oakland A’s vs Baltimore Orioles
- Moneyline: A’s -126, Orioles +108
- Total: OVER 8 (-114), UNDER 8 (-106)
- Run Line: A’s -1.5 (+136), Orioles +1.5 (-164)
The A’s have won 13 in a row, and with the exception of Wednesday’s wild win over the Twins, good pitching has been the backbone of their recent wins in the streak. In the win streak, the A’s have outscored the opposition 81-36. 12 of those 36 runs were allowed on Wednesday, and 19 of the remaining 24 came in the first five wins of the streak. In the other seven wins, the A’s have allowed two or fewer runs.
That includes the first two games of this series, which the A’s have won 3-1 and 7-2. The Orioles send out their ace today, and Means has hurled seven shutout innings twice in his four starts. But the Orioles are 1-8 at home so far, being outscored 53-32 in the process. That said, Luzardo has had a couple of rough outings this month, so if there is a day for Baltimore’s bats to make a little noise, today is the day.
A’s vs Orioles MLB Betting Consensus: 60% A’s win, 60% OVER 8, 80% Orioles +1.5
Kansas City Royals vs Detroit Tigers
- Moneyline: Royals -118, Tigers +100
- Total: OVER 8 (-118), UNDER 8 (-104)
- Run Line: Royals -1.5 (+152), Tigers +1.5 (-184)
The Royals continue to impress and have taken the first two in Detroit. Duffy is pitching well, and given his early success and how poorly the Tigers are performing at the plate, this line should move before the first pitch. The Tigers have scored more than two runs only once in their last eight games.
Royals vs Tigers MLB Betting Consensus: 100% Royals win, 100% OVER 8, 60% Tigers +1.5
New York Yankees vs Cleveland Indians
- Moneyline: Yankees -132, Indians +112
- Total: OVER 8 (-110), UNDER 8 (-110)
- Run Line: Yankees -1.5 (+134), Indians +1.5 (-162)
Things are now looking up for the Yankees, who go for the four-game sweep after securing the series last night against Shane Bieber.
Yankees vs Indians MLB Betting Consensus: 80% Yankees win, 60% OVER 8, 80% Indians +1.5
Seattle Mariners vs Boston Red Sox
- Moneyline: Mariners +172, Red Sox -205
- Total: OVER 8.5 (-118), UNDER 8.5 (-104)
- Run Line: Mariners +1.5 (-118), Red Sox -1.5 (-102)
Like the Royals, the Mariners continue to play above expectations and will look to claim the series today in Boston. Seattle was averaging only 4.1 runs per game going into this series but has scored 20 runs in three games.
Mariners vs Red Sox MLB Betting Consensus: 80% Red Sox win, 80% OVER 8.5, 60% Red Sox -1.5
Toronto Blue Jays vs Tampa Bay Rays
- Moneyline: Blue Jays -132, Rays +112
- Total: OVER 7.5 (-108), UNDER 7.5 (-112)
- Run Line: Blue Jays -1.5 (+138), Rays +1.5 (-166)
Are we due for another 5-3 today? That has been the score of the first two games of this series. Patino makes his Rays debut after being part of the trade that sent Blake Snell to San Diego. He allowed three homers, 18 hits, and 14 walks in 17.1 IP last season with the Padres, so it will be interesting to see if he has gotten a handle on being so generous.
Blue Jays vs Rays MLB Betting Consensus: 80% Blue Jays win, 60% OVER 7.5, 100% Rays +1.5
Washington Nationals vs New York Mets
- Moneyline: Nationals +122, Mets -144
- Total: OVER 7.5 (+100), UNDER 7.5 (-122)
- Run Line: Nationals +1.5 (-166), Mets -1.5 (+138)
After being roughed up in his first two starts, Corbin was excellent in his last start, allowing four hits and no walks in six shutout innings against the Cardinals last Tuesday. That is an encouraging sign going into a start against a dangerous lineup. Walker, however, is coming off of a start in which he struck out seven but walked six in only 3.2 IP. The Mets and Nats have taken turns shutting each other down, so we’re naturally headed for either a slugfest or a 2-1 game here, just for balance.
Nationals vs Mets MLB Betting Consensus: 60% Mets win, 80% OVER 7.5, 60% Nationals +1.5
Arizona Diamondbacks vs Atlanta Braves (Game 1)
- Moneyline: Diamondbacks +116, Braves -136
- Total: OVER 6.5 (-120), UNDER 6.5 (-102)
- Run Line: Diamondbacks +1.5 (-200), Braves -1.5 (+164)
After a hailstorm forced a postponement last night, the Braves and Diamondbacks play a double dip today. The Diamondbacks are one of only five teams averaging at least five runs per game, while the Braves are not far off of that mark. That said, overs are a tricky thing when it comes to seven-inning games, so tread carefully.
Diamondbacks vs MLB Braves Game 1 Betting Consensus: 60% Braves win, 100% OVER 6.5, 80% Diamondbacks +1.5
Los Angeles Angels vs Houston Astros
- Moneyline: Angels +118, Astros -138
- Total: OVER 8.5 (-110), UNDER 8.5 (-110)
- Run Line: Angels +1.5 (-170), Astros -1.5 (+140)
After a rough two weeks at the plate and overall, the Astros have woken up in a major way against the Angels. After taking the first two games of the series, Houston went off last night, recording 11 extra-base hits and 18 hits overall in a 16-2 rout.
Bundy pitched fairly well in his first start against the Astros almost three weeks ago, and he will need to again in order for the Angels to avoid the sweep. But he is coming in off of a start in which he allowed five in five innings to the Rangers on Monday. McCullers is similarly seeking a bounce-back effort, as he gave up six runs in 3.2 IP against the Tigers in his last start on April 14.
Angels vs Astros MLB Betting Consensus: 60% Astros win, 80% OVER 8.5, 60% Angels +1.5
Pittsburgh Pirates vs Minnesota Twins
- Moneyline: Pirates +176, Twins -210
- Total: OVER 8.5 (-114), UNDER 8.5 (-106)
- Run Line: Pirates +1.5 (-122), Twins -1.5 (+102)
The Twins continue to struggle at the plate, and that is a recipe for failure if the pitching also struggles, as was the case for Michael Pineda did yesterday. Today has to be the day, right? They are facing a pitcher making only his fifth MLB appearance, who went 0-2 with an ERA of 11.88 in three starts with the Washington Nationals last season. Runs are likely to be needed as well, as Shoemaker has given up four and five in his last two starts.
Pirates vs Twins MLB Betting Consensus: 80% Twins win, 40% OVER 8.5, 80% Pirates +1.5
Texas Rangers vs Chicago White Sox
- Moneyline: Rangers +160, White Sox -190
- Total: OVER 7.5 (-105), UNDER 7.5 (-115)
- Run Line: Rangers +1.5 (-126), White Sox -1.5 (+105)
After opening in a seven-inning game against the Red Sox last Sunday, Kopech gets his first start in a nine-inning game. Arihara has settled in nicely in his MLB debut and has not allowed a run in his last two starts. This one looks like it could be another low-scoring affair after last night’s 2-1 White Sox win.
Rangers vs White Sox MLB Betting Consensus: 75% White Sox win, 75% OVER 7.5, 50% Rangers +1.5/50% White Sox -1.5
Cincinnati Reds vs St. Louis Cardinals
- Moneyline: Reds +112, Cardinals -132
- Total: OVER 7 (-115), UNDER 7 (-105)
- Run Line: Reds +1.5 (-194), Cardinals -1.5 (+160)
The starting pitching has come through in the first two games of this series for the Cardinals, and now they send their ace to the hill to try to secure the sweep. If the pattern continues, expect the sweep and for the Cardinals to have a big day at the plate. In Flaherty’s four starts, the Cardinals are 4-0 and have outscored the opposition 44-14.
Reds vs Cardinals MLB Betting Consensus: 80% Cardinals win, 60% OVER 7, 100% Reds +1.5
Milwaukee Brewers vs Chicago Cubs
- Moneyline: Brewers -134, Cubs +114
- Total: OVER 6.5 (-120), UNDER 6.5 (-102)
- Run Line: Brewers -1.5 (+136), Cubs +1.5 (-164)
After the Cubs blew the Brewers away in the series opener Friday, Milwaukee struck back last night behind a solid outing by Freddy Peralta, some timely clutch hitting, and four good innings out of their bullpen. Woodruff has been stellar since a bumpy opener, so Craig Counsell will be hoping for at least six strong from him today. With Arrieta also pitching well for the Cubs, runs are likely to be at a premium in this one, though 6.5 is a difficult number to back for the under.
Brewers vs Cubs MLB Betting Consensus: 75% Brewers win, 75% OVER 7, 100% Cubs +1.5
Philadelphia Phillies vs Colorado Rockies
- Moneyline: Phillies +110, Rockies -130
- Total: OVER 11.5 (-105), UNDER 11.5 (-115)
- Run Line: Phillies +1.5 (-172), Rockies -1.5 (+140)
Phillies vs Giants MLB Betting Consensus: 60% Phillies win, 100% UNDER 11.5, 100% Phillies +1.5
Arizona Diamondbacks vs Atlanta Braves (Game 2)
- Moneyline: Diamondbacks +168, Braves -200
- Total: OVER 6.5 (-122), UNDER 6.5 (+100)
- Run Line: Diamondbacks +1.5 (-140), Braves -1.5 (+116)
Diamondbacks vs MLB Braves Game 2 Betting Consensus: N/A
Miami Marlins vs San Francisco Giants
- Moneyline: Marlins +144, Giants -172
- Total: OVER 8.5 (-104), UNDER 8.5 (-116)
- Run Line: Marlins +1.5 (-138), Giants -1.5 (+115)
Marlins vs Giants MLB Betting Consensus: N/A
San Diego Padres vs Los Angeles Dodgers
- Moneyline: Padres +106, Dodgers -124
- Total: OVER 7.5 (+100), UNDER 7.5 (-122)
- Run Line: Padres +1.5 (-220), Dodgers -1.5 (+180)
Padres vs Dodgers MLB Betting Consensus: 80% Dodgers win, 60% OVER 7.5, 80% Padres +1.5
