Cubs vs Giants Game Preview

These two NL teams have yet to face each other this year. Last night was the first meeting, and the Cubs took the game 3-2, thanks to a 3-run Top of the 7th.

These two squads have fairly identical stats, but the Giants seem to have a bit of an edge on the pitching side of things.

Today they’ll roll out John Brebbia, while the Cubbies will start Kyle Hendricks.

Cubs vs Giants Prediction & Best Bets

Giants -1.5 (+148)

Depending on the books, this is the best number I am finding for this line. With most of the market pricing this at +125 to +130, I will bite the bullet on the +148.

The Giants lose last night at home, but ultimately I think they are the better squad. Kyle Hendricks hasn’t been overly special since coming back off an injury, and I think the Giants can have some success against him.

Not to say that Hendricks won’t hit his prop lines, but I think the Giants will be able to score some runs and win this one by two tonight.

Kyle Hendricks over 3.5 Ks (-125)

I’m willing to pay minimal juice for just four strikeouts from Hendricks. He doesn’t strikeout a ton of batters, but the Giants strikeout plenty.

Hendricks has posted 4, 3, and 5 strikeouts in starts this season, clearing the number twice and getting hooked once.

Today, he should look to go longer than 5 innings, which would allow him plenty of time to get his strikeouts.

The Giants rank 3rd in K% against RHP, so Hendricks could have himself a field day on the bump.
