See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Atlanta Braves have been MLB’s best road team thus far this season, but they are also heating up at home as of late. Tonight, they will look to continue their recent home success in the second game of their four-game series with the visiting Colorado Rockies.
Last night, the Braves (43-26, 21-15 home) picked up an 8-3 win over the Rockies (29-42, 13-23 away). Rookie pitcher A.J. Smith-Shawver pitched 5.2 solid innings and picked up his first MLB win, and Ozzie Albies, who was moved into second in the lineup last night, had three hits and three RBI.
Tonight, Atlanta will turn to another rookie on the mound in Jared Shuster, while Colorado will hope for better results from Dinelson Lamet after a rough start for Kyle Freeland in last night’s loss. How will things play out at Truist Park? Read on for our Rockies vs Braves prediction and best bets.

Pitching Matchup for Rockies vs Braves
- Colorado Rockies: RHP Dinelson Lamet (15 appearances – 3 starts, 1-3, 10.38 ERA)
- Atlanta Braves: LHP Jared Shuster (7 starts, 3-2, 5.01 ERA)
Will Settled Shuster Silence Colorado?
Last Saturday, Shuster made his first start of June and picked up the third win of his rookie campaign, as he allowed three runs and eight hits in five innings in a 6-4 win over the Washington Nationals.
After allowing four runs in each of his first two starts, Shuster has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his last five starts, and in his last four starts, he is 3-0 with a 3.68 ERA.
The 24-year-old southpaw is certainly still finding his feet in the big leagues, but he appears to be getting more and more settled in with each start. That is good news for the Braves, who are still without Max Fried and Kyle Wright and dealing with some recent struggles from former NL Cy Young favorite Spencer Strider.
Is another solid start ahead for Shuster? The Rockies are hitting only .229 against lefties this season, compared to .266 against righties.
Also, the Rockies have now scored four or fewer runs in 25 of 36 road games. When they have scored four or fewer runs, they are 3-22 on the road and 6-37 overall.
By comparison, the Braves are now 18-6 at home and 39-9 overall when scoring four or more runs this season, and they are now 22-5 this season when they have allowed three or fewer runs.
