WWE WrestleMania 40: Night 1 Predictions & Odds
The WWE WrestleMania XL odds are courtesy of BetOnline as of 11:28 a.m. ET on Friday, April 5.
Night 1 Main Event: The Bloodline vs Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins Prediction & Odds
- The Bloodline (-900)
- Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins (+500)
The WWE is as hot as its ever been and one of the main reasons is The Rock’s return to the company. Things were shaky at first when it looked like he was challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, but things quickly improved when he turned heeled and joined The Bloodline. The result of the impressive pivot is one of the biggest tag team matches in WrestleMania history.
Having said that, I fully expect Reigns and The Rock to win this match. There’s been so much of an emphasis on Sunday’s main event being “Bloodline Rules” if the duo wins that it’s seemingly a foregone conclusion that they’ll emerge victorious here. Besides, Rhodes and Rollins can get revenge by using those rules against the Bloodline the next night.
Bloodline vs. Rhodes & Rollins Prediction: Bloodline (-900)

LWO vs Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio Prediction & Odds
- LWO (+140)
- Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio (-180)
Another tag team match that a lot of WWE fans are looking forward to is the showdown between the Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee) against Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio. While the underdogs are immensely popular among the fanbase, I’m taking the favorites to win.
After Dominik lost to Rey at WrestleMania 39, it’s time for the son to get his win back. WWE has positioned “Dirty Dom” and Escobar to be two of the company’s Latino heels going forward and a win over the greatest Luchador of all time and the talented Lee would provide a major boost.
LWO vs. Mysterio & Escober Prediction: Mysterio and Escobar (-180)
Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, & Naomi vs. Damage CTRL Prediction & Odds
- Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, & Naomi (-2000)
- Damage CTRL (+700)
Oddsmakers expect a lopsided matchup when Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Naomi team up to take on Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Asuka, Kairi Sane). The -2000 odds that the faces hold carry an implied win probability of 95.2%.
With that in mind, I agree with BetOnline — I don’t see Belair, Cargill, and Naomi losing. Belair is one of the most popular stars on the roster while Cargill is finally making her WWE in-ring debut after showing up at the Royal Rumble. Couple those facts with Naomi still being fresh off her return and I just don’t see a world where Damage CTRL prevails.
Belair, Cargill, & Naomi vs. Damage CTRL Prediction: Belair, Cargill, & Naomi (-2000)
Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso Prediction & Odds
- Jey Uso (-200)
- Jimmy Uso (+150)
After more than a decade of dominating the WWE tag team division, twin brothers Jey and Jimmy Uso will finally go one-on-one at WrestleMania. Jey has excelled as a solo babyface and consistently gets some of the loudest reactions while Jimmy is coming to his own after his heel turn began slowly.
Although Jey is the favorite, I’m taking Jimmy. The reason I say that is because the latter needs the win more. Jey has done great for himself as he constantly main events on Monday Night Raw, putting him several steps ahead of his brother. A win for Jimmy would help close that gap while potentially setting up a rematch later this year.
Hell, I won’t be surprised if the twins’ other brother — Solo Sikoa — helps Jimmy with the win.
Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso Prediction: Jimmy Uso (+150)

WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship 6-Pack Ladder Match Prediction & Odds
- Awesome Truth (+100)
- #DIY (+250)
- The Judgement Day (+400)
- A-Town-Down Under (+400)
- The New Day (+700)
- New Catch Republic (+800)

The WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championships are on the line in a major six-pack ladder match as The Judgement Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) defend the gold against the Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth), #DIY (Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano), A-Town-Down Under (Grayson Waller & Austin Theory), the New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), and New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate & Pete Dunne).
While this match could go several ways, I’m taking the Awesome Truth to win. This entire match all began because of Truth’s storyline with the Judgement Day. Now that Balor and Priest look like they’re finally dropping the gold, it only makes sense that Miz and Truth are the ones to take it off them.
WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship 6-Pack Ladder Match Prediction: Awesome Truth (+100)
Gunther vs Sami Zayn Prediction & Odds
- Sami Zayn (-150)
- Gunther (+110)
When it comes to WrestleMania 40: Night 1, this match is one that I’m going back and forth on. On one hand, Gunther is in the middle of his historic Intercontinental Championship reign, and looks like he has a lot more left in the tank. On the other hand, Zayn has been one of the company’s best underdogs and could be the perfect foil for a cocky villain like the “Ring General.”
As great as Gunther’s reign has been, all good things come to an end and I see that being the case at WrestleMania XL. Zayn deserves a championship run after all the work he’s put in since 2022, so look for him to return to championship glory this weekend.
Gunther vs. Zayn Prediction: Sami Zayn (-150)
Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch Prediction & Odds
- Rhea Ripley (-450)
- Becky Lynch (+270)
BetOnline is heavily projecting Rhea Ripley to successfully defend the Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch on Saturday. While I firmly understand the sportsbook’s logic (Ripley is extremely dominant and rarely loses, Lynch has already won gold before, etc.), I think an upset might be on the horizon.
This feud began when Lynch questioned if Ripley was better than her, causing the latter’s ego to grow more and more with each passing week. I think losing to Lynch would be a great thing for Ripley’s character as it would bring her back to reality and force her to become better. Besides, Ripley is only 27 years old and has a lot more time to win more gold.
Besides, winning the title would also help Lynch remind the crowd just how good she is.
Ripley vs. Lynch Prediction: Becky Lynch (+270)

WWE WrestleMania 40: Day 2 Predictions & Odds
Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes Prediction & Odds
- Cody Rhodes (-250)
- Roman Reigns (+170)
Regardless of what happens on Night 1, Cody Rhodes will have a chance to finish his story when he challenges Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship on Night 2. It’s been a long time coming for the “American Nightmare,” who came up short against the “Head of the Table” last year in Los Angeles.
Even though some WWE fans predict Reigns’ reign will continue, I don’t. Rhodes is one of the hottest acts in all of professional wrestling and failing to put the gold on him for a second straight year would be a massive mistake. Eventually, fans will assume he’ll never win the big one if he consistently fails under the brightest lights.
Even if he has to use Reigns’ own Bloodline Rules against him, I see Rhodes finishing the weekend on top.
Rhodes vs. Reigns Prediction: Cody Rhodes (-250)
Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre Prediction & Odds
- Seth Rollins (+250)
- Drew McIntyre (-400)
After winning February’s Elimination Chamber, Drew McIntyre gets a crack at Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship. The duo previously collided at Crown Jewel 2023, resulting in a successful defense for the champion.
Having said that, I see Rollins’ run coming to an end at WrestleMania XL. He’s had a great championship reign, but McIntyre has taken his game to the next level ever since his heel turn. He’s been making waves on television and across social media, so it only makes sense that the WWE would put the gold on him.
Besides, McIntyre is still looking for his WrestleMania moment after missing out on one due to COVID-19, so winning on Sunday would remedy that.
Rollins vs. McIntyre Prediction: Drew McIntyre (-400)

Iyo Sky vs Bayley Prediction & Odds
- Bayley (-300)
- Iyo Sky (+200)
Here’s another championship match that I’m somewhat torn on. For starters, Bayley also deserves a WrestleMania moment — especially since she hasn’t held championship gold in nearly four years. At the same time, Iyo Sky has been doing a solid job as the WWE Women’s Champion and could get a lot more mileage out of her reign.
At the end of the day, I’m siding with Bayley to win. Again, she hasn’t held a title in a long time and I’m not sure a loss would help with her face turn. Damage CTRL can afford to step out of the spotlight for a little bit, allowing Bayley the opportunity to remind the world just how damn good she is.
Bayley vs. Sky Prediction: Bayley (-300)
LA Knight vs AJ Styles Prediction & Odds
- LA Knight (-600)
- AJ Styles (+350)
The WrestleMania 40 feud between LA Knight and AJ Styles has been pretty entertaining. It’s been a throwback to older rivalries, especially with the duo brawling at Styles’ home (resulting in Knight’s “arrest”) and even getting into a scrap at a WWE Media Day while I was writing this article.

— Wrestle Ops (@WrestleOps) April 5, 2024
With Styles being open about his career winding down, I don’t see Knight losing this weekend. The “Megastar” has been white-hot for close to a year now, making him more than deserving of a victory over a legend on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Knight vs. Styles Prediction: LA Knight (-600)
Logan Paul vs Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens Prediction & Odds
- Logan Paul (-300)
- Randy Orton (+325)
- Kevin Owens (+350)
Logan Paul’s United States Championship reign continues as he puts the gold on the line against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens this weekend. The YouTuber-turned-boxer-turned-wrestler has excelled under the WWE umbrella, hence why oddsmakers are confident in a successful defense in Philly.
While Orton and Owens are more than capable of winning, I see Paul retaining. He’s exceeded expectations and has done a good job at being the heel that everyone wants to see beat up. SummerSlam is also in Cleveland — his hometown — this year, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the WWE keeps the gold on Paul until then.
Paul vs. Orton vs. Owens Prediction: Logan Paul (-300)
The Pride vs The Final Testament Prediction & Odds
- The Pride (-200)
- The Final Testament (+150)
After months of feuding, the Pride (Bobby Lashley, Montez Ford, & Angel Dawkins) and the Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Akam, & Rezar) will finally collide in a Philadelphia Street Fight at WrestleMania 40. There’s a lot of bad blood between these teams, meaning I expect a physical brawl across the Linc.
The Pride is favored to win, but I wouldn’t count on that. The Final Testament needs victory a lot more after only forming a few months ago. Kross & Co. don’t gain anything by losing and a potential loss could leave them as a joke in most fans’ eyes. The Pride can handle the loss before both sides move on to fresh feuds.
The Pride vs. The Final Testament Prediction: The Final Testament (+150)
