Monday marked the beginning of the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago as the fall presidential election nears. The night was capped off by President Joe Biden announcing his complete confidence in Vice President Kamala Harris, who’s set to go head-to-head against former President Donald Trump in the upcoming months.
The festivities will continue on Tuesday as the Democrats will hold a roll call for Harris’ nomination while former President Barack Obama and ex-first lady Michelle Obama will deliver the keynote speech.
It isn’t a secret that the U.S. election scene has been a rollercoaster ride ever since Trump and Biden debated a few months ago and things will only get wilder from here on out. Everyone in the country is trying to figure out who’ll be the president for the next four years and one way people are doing so is by keeping track of the 2024 presidential election odds.
Here’s a look at the 2024 U.S. presidential election odds following Night 1 of the Democratic National Convention.
Presidential Election Odds 2024 Following DNC
U.S. Presidential Election odds are courtesy of BetOnline at 10:19 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
- Kamala Harris (-120)
- Donald Trump (+100)
- Michelle Obama (+10000)
- Nikki Haley (+10000)
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (+12500)
- Hillary Clinton (+15000)
- Tim Walz (+15000)
- J.D. Vance (+15000)
Following the opening of the 2024 DNC, Kamala Harris is BetOnline’s -120 favorite (54.6%) to win the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump sits second at +100 odds while the rest of the field doesn’t stand a chance.
Harris’ rise in popularity over the last month or so has completely flipped the race. The reversal has seen Trump’s odds fall at a dramatic speed, going from -200 on July 24 to -130 on July 31 to the plus-money territory he’s in at the moment. It’s safe to say that nobody saw things flipping like they have, especially this quickly.
Needless to say, it’s going to be interesting to see if the Democrats can generate more momentum on Tuesday. Harris’ nomination will become official at this point and a ringing endorsement from the Obamas could widen the gap between her and Trump even more. It’s a pivotal point in this year’s election, no doubt.
Additionally, BetOnline is favoring Harris to defeat Trump in the popular vote at -600 odds with the most likely margin being by 2.50-4.99% (+250).
