Hollywood Casino App is Now Available in Michigan

Residents of Michigan can now enjoy real money online casino game offerings from PENN Entertainment with their Hollywood Casino App. This standalone online casino app was recently made available in Pennsylvania before going live in the Great Lakes State.

Jay Snowden, CEO of PENN Entertainment, has noted that the Hollywood Casino App was  expected to launch in Pennsylvania first in “early 2025,” but went ahead of schedule and became available to the Keystone State back in December 2024.

The activation of the Hollywood Casino App in Michigan in the first full week of 2025 is considered to be early as well, but it is a welcome one. Michigan players can access The Hollywood Casino app on Android, iOS and desktop. Moreover, ESPN BET is also going to continue carrying casino games as well.

What Can Players Expect with the Hollywood Casino App?

Players who are new to using the Hollywood Casino App will have access to PENN Entertainment’s extensive online casino games that include 750 slots, table games and live dealer titles that most of the best online casinos offer. 

Some of the popular slots that can be played on the app are Cash Eruption, Hypernova Megaways, and Bruno’s Vegas Gold Blitz. Players can also try games developed by PENN Game Studios, PENN’s in-house casino game development studio, including titles like Legendary Larry and Wuji Mines.  

Moreover, the app also offers players various live dealer games that are Hollywood-branded and were launched last August. Along with these, there are also table games that have Detroit Red Wings branding on the table.

Players can download the Hollywood Casino App on their devices or use a desktop and login with the same credentials for ESPN BET. This inter-app operability makes things easier for players to use the app seamlessly since they won’t have to create a new account.

Why is the Hollywood Casino App Launching in Michigan a Big Deal?

Having the Hollywood Casino App available in Michigan is essential for PENN Entertainment because of their Hollywood Casino at Greektown operating within the state. This was evident according to a press release from PENN Entertainment,

“This launch strengthens the Hollywood Casino brand in Michigan, where PENN operates Hollywood Casino at Greektown in downtown Detroit… The online Hollywood Casino offers omnichannel integrations with Greektown, including Hollywood Casino at Greektown branded live dealer blackjack tables and digital versions of slot titles available at the property.”

The Michigan launch follows the app’s debut in Pennsylvania last December. PENN plans to expand Hollywood Casino to additional jurisdictions within the U.S.A. in 2025, which will be dependent on regulation approvals. 

Such states include New Jersey, West Virginia and the Canadian province of Ontario, all of which have thriving regulating online casino markets.
