Woodford, Coolmore Turf Mile: Keeneland Anaylsis, Selections

Keeneland will hold the 2022 Breeders’ Cup. On Saturday the Kentucky track holds a number of stake races including the Woodford and the Coolmore Turf Mile.

Keeneland- Race 1

Post: 1:00 PM ET; $49k Maiden Claiming going 7 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 8

• #4 BOURBON ON FIRE (5-2) gets the top selection. He looks to be the class of the field.
• #3 BEYBLADER (6-1) projects to sit mid pack and come with one run. This one has races good enough to beat this group.
• #5 PINE VALLEY (4-1) will likely be out on or near the lead and will look to hold off the charge to the wire. This one has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot.
• #2 CROW'S NEST (7-2) debuts here and has to be respected going out for the combination of Pletcher and Ortiz.

Keeneland- Race 2

Post: 1:31 PM ET; $100k Maiden Special Weight going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 15

• #3 MAGICAL LUTE (8-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #4 INVENTING ANNA (6-1) could be in with a shot in this race. She makes sense on speed figures. This one is well bred for this spot.
• #5 STAY FABULOUS (9-2) debuts here and is probably best to put underneath on most tickets.
• #9 ALEXA LOU (15-1) has to be considered going out for the combination of Stewart and Lopez.

• #7 BIG JAVA (3-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #8 FEELING HAPPY (4-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
• #5 MRS. NUSHI (5-1) goes out for the Foster barn and gets Corrales in the irons.
• #1 SOCIAL MANDATE (10-1) could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.

Post: 2:34 PM ET; $110k Allowance Optional Claiming going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 7

• #1 PROVE RIGHT (9-2) gets the top selection. He shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance.
• #5 JEREMY'S JET (15-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #4 TAP IN FORMATION (4-5) should improve off the first start and appears to be a major player in this race. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #6 GOLD LUCK (10-1) is a price horse and has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.

• #4 GULFSTREAM WAY (4-1) is the top pick. He has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.
• #12 OSBOURNE (7-2) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one shouldn't have trouble with the 7 furlong distance.
• #6 BEN DIESEL (6-1) could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
• #8 SEAL BEACH (12-1) is a price horse and has to be respected going out for the combination of Maker and Ortiz.

• #4 GOLDEN PAL (4-5) looks best here. He’s the champ until proven otherwise.
• #7 ARTEMUS CITYLIMITS (9-2) comes into the race in really good form.
• #2 BAD BEAT BRIAN (15-1) goes out for the Vanden barn and gets Emigh in the irons.
• #5 GEAR JOCKEY (8-1) is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. He could get the right setup in this race.

Post: 4:10 PM ET; $350k Thoroughbred Club of America S. going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 9

• #7 SLAMMED (3-1) gets the top selection. She has races good enough to beat this group. This one has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.
• #5 SCONSIN (8-1) may benefit from a hot pace up front. This one shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance.
• #1 LI'L TOOTSIE (15-1) seems to fit well enough here. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #2 PALM COTTAGE (4-1) will likely be out on or near the lead and will look to hold off the charge to the wire.

Post: 4:42 PM ET; $750k First Lady S. Presented by UK HealthCare going 1 mile on turf; Entries: 6

• #5 REGAL GLORY (6-5) is the top pick. She looks to be the class of the field. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
• #3 TECHNICAL ANALYSIS (5-2) could get the right setup in this race.
• #2 PRINCESS GRACE (6-1) should be competitive in this spot.
• #4 IN ITALIAN (3-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.

Selections: 5 – 3 – 2 – 4

Keeneland- Race 9

Post: 5:14 PM ET; $600k Claiborne Breeders' Futurity going 1 1/16 miles on dirt; Entries: 16

• #2 LOGGINS (4-1) should improve off the first start and looks best here. He shouldn't have trouble with the 1 1/16 mile distance.
• #7 FORTE (3-1) should be competitive in this spot. The previous efforts are competitive.
• #8 NEWGATE (20-1)has to be respected going out for the combination of Baffert and Velazquez. This one will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late.
• #5 INSTANT COFFEE (5-1) should improve off the first start and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He may benefit from a hot pace up front.

• #6 IVAR (6-1) gets the top selection. He will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here.
• #7 SANTIN (7-2) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
• #9 CASA CREED (5-1) projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
• #8 ANNAPOLIS (10-1) is a price horse and has to be respected going out for the combination of Pletcher and Ortiz.
