Prairie Meadows runs a mix breed meet. A majority of their races including Friday’s feature are thoroughbred races. They do sprinkle in quarter horses as well.

Full Card Analysis

One helpful tip when playing the track for the first time is to know the profile. Speed does very well at the Iowa track. While this is frequently the case on dirt tracks, Prairie Meadows can at times get extremely favorable for horses on the lead.

• #5 SWEET GAME CHICK (2-1) is proven as a good bet to at least hit the board under today's distance and surface conditions.
• #1 CREDENTZ (6-1) is the fringe player I like the most though the rail can be a tricky post in these dash races.

• #3 IRIS COWBOY CASANOVA (6-1) is a major player based on the speed index from previous races.
• #7 A THIRD RATE ROMANCE (7-2) is worth a look here given edges in class.
• #2 WEST CREST OFFENSE (8-1) is another who has run against some really good quarters. Maybe a little easier group means a little faster run.
• #6 CORONA KEN (5-1) has been in solid form lately and is worth a look in a race that looks wide open.

• #2 CALL THE SHOTS (7-2) looks to have to have kept the best company in the previous starts.
• #5 BYE LOVE GOTTA GO (5-2) is worth a look here given the connections preparing this one.

• #2 PREGAME (7-2) is a major player in today's race edging the field in several key handicapping factors including speed & pedigree.
• #6 ARISTOCAT (9-5) looks like a strong prospect edging the field in several key handicapping factors including connections & form.
• #1 LUCKY DUDE (8-1) has run reasonably good speed figures.
• #3 KEEN CONTENDER (6-1) is a best of the rest type runner in this spot. He may be just a bit far back to catch the front runners today.

• #6 ZIGGY (7-2) is proven as a good bet to at least hit the board under today's distance and surface conditions.
• #4 CASEYS MEMORY (6-1) comes into the race signaling a big performance in the near future.

• #6 CAPTAIN DON (20-1) will be forward and seems like the kind that can outrun the odds in this spot.
• #9 RIDE RICHIE RIDE (12-1) could get a perfect pace scenario today.

• #1 MY GOLDEN DAY (5-1) is proven as a good bet to at least hit the board under today's distance and surface conditions.
• #5 BLAZE AWAY N HIDE (6-1) is worth a look here given edges in connections & race flow.
• #7 BOSSY MOMENT (10-1) merits consideration in this spot given edges in speed figures & stamina.

Post: 9:27 PM CT; Purse: $24,111 Maiden Claiming, 5 1/2 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 10

• #8 GARBO SPEAKS (3-1) has a great shot in the race given the speed figures & class.
• #4 LET'S GO LACEY (5-1) rates out well in a lot of categories compared to these. This one is worth a look, but 5-1 is just about fair.
• #2 I THINK I KNOW YOU (15-1) has to be respected based on the connections and the price is right.
• #9 MY FIRING LINE (4-1) will look to impress on debut and may be the fresh face this group needs.
