Lid Lifter: Wednesday Begins Keeneland’s Final Race Week

With the Breeders’ Cup just over a week away, Keeneland runs the final week of regular racing. The Wednesday card features many lower level horses as the stars save up for next weekend.
Keeneland- Race 1
Post: 1:00 PM ET; $44k Starter Allowance going 1 1/16 miles on dirt; Entries: 6
- #6 PASSIONFORTREASURE (6-5) gets the top selection. She has races good enough to beat this group. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
- #1 TELLER TO SING (5-2) shouldn't have trouble with the 1 1/16 mile distance. This one has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
- #5 NEVERSAYNOLETSGO (4-1) has to be respected going out for the combination of Reed and Mckee.
- #2 MY GOOD FORTUNE (8-1) seems to be running for the minor placings in this contest, but is a possibility to hit the board.

Keeneland- Race 2
Post: 1:32 PM ET; $47k Maiden Claiming going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 10
- #4 MOON MAGIC CHRISSY (5-2) is the top pick. She will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late. This one has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot.
- #8 STAR POSE (6-1) should be competitive in this spot. She is a good bet to hit the board in this type of race.
- #7 BONANZA GRADE (9-2) should improve off the first start and could be in with a shot in this race. She makes sense on speed figures. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
- #6 MARSANNE (15-1) is a price horse and isn't without hope. She has been good in these dirt sprints previously.

Keeneland- Race 3
Post: 2:04 PM ET; $67k Maiden Claiming going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 8
- #1 ITDOWHATITDO (8-1) should improve off the first start and looks best here. She hit the board in the first start and could take a step forward. These maiden claimers can be unpredictable.
- #2 ARGUMENTAL (5-2) should be competitive in this spot. She shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance. This one makes sense on speed figures.
- #5 AWESOME ALLY VEE (4-1) isn't without hope. She looks to be the class of the field.
- #6 STORM HAVEN (7-2) makes sense based on the debut speed figure. This one will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here.
Selections: 1 – 2 – 5 – 6
Keeneland- Race 4
Post: 2:36 PM ET; $64k Claiming going 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 9
- #8 DOUBLE THUNDER (3-1) gets the top selection. He shouldn't have trouble with the 6 1/2 furlong distance. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
- #3 OVERTAXED (5-2) appears to be a major player in this race. He will likely be involved in the early pace.
- #6 TOTALIZER (10-1) is a price horse that has run against some solid foes.. This one has solid early pace figures at a track that has been kind to front runners.
- #4 CATHEDRAL BEACH (4-1) feels like yet another horse that will be on or near the lead in the early phases.
Selections: 8 – 3 – 6 – 4
Keeneland- Race 5
Post: 3:08 PM ET; $110k Allowance going about 1 1/8 miles on turf; Entries: 11
- #2 RUNNING BEE (3-1) is the top pick. He has races good enough to beat this group. This one has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
- #10 MOUNT RUNDLE (4-1) should be competitive in this spot. He makes sense on speed figures. This one has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
- #4 WIN WORTHY (6-1) could be in with a shot in this race. He looks to be the class of the field.
- #3 POLICY OPTION (8-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He comes into the race in good form. This one will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here.
Selections: 2 – 10- 4 – 3
Keeneland- Race 6
Post: 3:40 PM ET; $120k Allowance Optional Claiming going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 8
- #2 BOMBDIGGITY (9-2) shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance. This one has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
- #7 MAGIC QUEST (6-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
- #5 HEADLAND (8-1) should be competitive in this spot. She makes sense on speed figures. This one runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.
- #8 COPPELIA (5-1) has races good enough to beat this group.
Selections: 2 – 7 – 5 – 8
Keeneland- Race 7
Post: 4:12 PM ET; $110k Allowance going about 1 1/8 miles on turf; Entries: 12
- #3 FORWARDLY (8-1) gets the top selection. He has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
- #11 JARREAU (3-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He could get the right setup in this race. This one has races good enough to beat this group.
- #6 VERSTAPPEN (9-2) has races that fit with these types. This one goes out for the Walsh barn and gets Gaffalione in the irons.
- #7 AL'S ROCKET (7-2) should be competitive in this spot. He should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders. This one may benefit from a hot pace up front.
Selections: 3 – 11- 6 – 7
Keeneland- Race 8
Post: 4:44 PM ET; $48k Maiden Claiming going 7 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 11
- #3 MASTER GAME (5-2) is the top pick. He looks to be the class of the field. This one has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
- #1 NORGAY (6-1) should be competitive in this spot. He makes sense on speed figures. This one will likely have a lot to do in the lane, but could get up with a competitive run.
- #11 APOLLO RISING (7-2) should improve off the first start and could be in with a shot in this race. This one has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot. He will need a little pace up front.
- #9 HURRY ON OUT (20-1) is a price horse and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
