Belmont Meet Winds Down: Kelso Handicap Analysis, Selections

Belmont at the Big A is winding down. Although racing will continue from Aqueduct, the meet will take on the usual title of Aqueduct Winter Meet.
Belmont at the Big A- Race 1
Post: 12:35 PM ET; $77k Maiden Special Weight going 1 1/16 miles on turf; Entries: 12
- #7 PHOTON (3-1) gets the top selection. She goes out for the Breen barn and gets Ortiz in the irons.
- #3 CAN'T FOOL ME (10-1) is a price horse and should be competitive in this spot. She comes into the race in really good form. This one seems to fit well enough here.
- #9 BAVARIAN CREME (8-1) looks to be the class of the field.
- #10 PIMENOVA (4-1) could get the right setup in this race. This one will likely be out on or near the lead and will look to hold off the charge to the wire.

- #6 CLEAT (5-2) is the top pick. He has races good enough to beat this group. This one has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
- #3 WAR FIGHTER (2-1) should improve off the first start. This one should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders.
- #7 CHUCKA MOON (5-2) will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here. This one is well bred for this spot.
- #2 CAPTAIN QUICK (8-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.

- #6 MONEY SUPPLY (5-2) looks best here. He has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one may benefit from a hot pace up front.
- #5 SHIPSATIONAL (4-1) shouldn't have trouble with the 1 mile distance.
- #4 PERCEIVED (5-1) has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
- #8 THREE JOKERS (6-1) will want plenty of pace up front to have a chance.

- #4 FREEDOM TRAIL (3-1) should improve off the first start and gets the top selection. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Terranova and Ortiz.
- #5 NOBLE HUNTSMAN (8-1) looks to be the class of the field. This one projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
- #1 CONMAN (10-1) is a price horse and makes sense on speed figures. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
- #6 LET'S GO BIG BLUE (5-2) fits this group based on speed figures.

- #1 SHACKQUEENKING (5-1) goes out for the Capuano barn and gets Suarez in the irons. This one seems to fit well enough here.
- #2 EMPTY TOMB (3-1) has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.

- #4 MISCHIEVOUS DREAM (4-1) should be competitive in this spot. She goes out for the Clement barn and gets Ortiz in the irons. This one looks to be the class of the field.
- #3 SECRET TIME (5-1) could be in with a shot in this race. She should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders.
- #7 STOP WAR (7-2) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.

- #3 TIMELESS JOURNEY (8-1) makes sense on speed figures and may benefit from a hot pace up front.

- #5 GLASS CEILING (5-2) looks to be the class of the field. This one shouldn't have trouble with the 7 furlong distance.
- #4 DR B (5-1) seems to fit well enough here.
- #6 OXANA (6-1) should be part of the early pace in this spot.

- #4 ST. JOE LOUIS (4-1) should be competitive in this group.
