The result of the Del Mar ship and win program continues to attract full fields. Five of the 8 races on Thursday have more than 10 entries.
Del Mar- Race 1
Post: 2:00 PM PT; $80k Maiden Special Weight going 5 furlongs on turf; Entries: 14
- #8 LA PEER (7-2) debuts here and gets the top selection. She has to be respected going out for the combination of D'Amato and Hernandez.
- #11 CANDY CARAMEL (6-1) should improve off the first start and could be in with a shot in this race. She has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot.
- #6 HAPPY GAL (5-2) makes her second start. This one has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.
- #9 BOLT'S BROAD (12-1) is a price horse and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She is well bred for this spot.

- #7 QUEEN VERRAZANO (15-1) is a price horse and seems to be running for the minor placings in this contest. She’s been keeping good company.
- #1 TROUBLE N PARADISE (8-1) seems to be running for the minor placings in this contest. She is a good bet to hit the board in this type of race.
- #6 ISLAND LIFE (5-1) fits here. She has the top overall power rating in the group.

- #1 VELVET (3-1) looks best here. She will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here. This one has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
- #8 KITTY KITANA (5-2) makes some sense. She runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.
- #6 UNWHIRLED (3-1) should improve off the first start and is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. She has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
- #7 GIMME MO BABY (12-1) projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
