After months of anticipation, the Breeders’ Cup is back. Friday kicks off the 2 day event at Santa Anita and features the top two year old runners in the world.
Full Card Analysis
Santa Anita Park- 1
Post: 11:30 AM PT; $150k Qatar Golden Mile S. going 1 m on turf; Entries: 8
- #1 ACE OF CLUBS (4-1) gets the top selection. He goes out for the O'Neill barn and gets Fresu in the irons. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
- #5 GO WITH GUSTO (5-2) appears to be a major player in this race. She has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.
- #3 LORD BULLINGDON (6-1) should be competitive in this spot. He makes sense on speed figures. This one will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late.
- #6 MO FOX GIVIN (6-1) could be in with a shot in this race. She makes sense on speed figures. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.

- #11 CRAZY HOT (5-1) is the top pick. She looks to be the class of the field. This one makes sense on speed figures.
- #7 GRAND SLAM SMILE (5-2) appears to be a major player in this race. She should be part of the early pace in this spot. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
- #5 MIRINDA (8-5) should improve off the first start and appears to be a major player in this race. She goes out for the Mandella barn and gets Smith in the irons. This one has races good enough to beat this group.
- #9 FLY A FANTASY (20-1) is a price horse and feels like a fringe contender in this spot. She has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.

- #4 ELM DRIVE (6-1) looks best here. She seems to fit well enough here. This one has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.
- #12 PLAYLIST (4-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She shouldn't have trouble with the distance. This one could get the right setup in this race.
- #5 EDDIE'S NEW DREAM (12-1) is a price horse and should be competitive in this spot. She looks to be the class of the field.
- #13 ROSE MADDOX (8-1) should be competitive in this spot. She makes sense on speed figures. This one shouldn't have trouble with the distance.

- #10 LAST CALL LONDON (4-1) gets the top selection. He has races good enough to beat this group. This one has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
- #12 MICI'S EXPRESS (5-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He shouldn't have trouble with the distance. This one has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
- #1 DR. NO NO (7-2) appears to be a major player in this race. He makes sense on speed figures. This one has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.
- #8 GOING MOBILE (12-1) is a price horse and appears to be a major player in this race. He makes sense on speed figures. This one runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.

- #4 BIG EVS (3-1) is a rare European turf runner with early speed. Normally I lean American here, but this runner looks something different.
- #2 NO NAY METS (4-1) is the top pick. He has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Weaver and Ortiz.
- #9 AMIDST WAVES (8-1) should be competitive in this spot. She goes out for the Weaver barn and gets Prat in the irons. This one makes sense on speed figures.
- #11 SLIDER (8-1) gets a bit of the home field advantage having run over Santa Anita previously. If this one can get anywhere near the debut effort you can back up the Brinks truck.

- #7 TAMARA (4-5) looks best here. She shouldn't have trouble with the distance. This one could get the right setup in this race.
- #1 CANDIED (4-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She may benefit from a hot pace up front. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
- #9 BRIGHTWORK (12-1) is a price horse and appears to be a major player in this race. She has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip. This one could get the right setup in this race.
- #6 CHATALAS (8-1) appears to be a major player in this race. She has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts. This one will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late.

- #6 PORTA FORTUNA (5-1) won the post draw given the tactical speed she possesses. This one looks tough.
- #11 SHE FEELS PRETTY (4-1) may end up being the precocious talent of this field, but the draw may cause her to lose a little extra ground to her rivals.
- #7 GALA BRAND (12-1) is a price horse and gets the top selection. She has the top overall power rating in the group. This one has races good enough to beat this group.
- #14 LES PAVOTS (8-1) was my top pick inside of post 7, but the draw hung her out wide. She will have to be much the best on the day to get the job done from there.

- #2 PRINCE OF MONACO (4-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He has races good enough to beat this group.
- #6 LOCKED (7-2) appears to be a major player in this race. He has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
- #9 FIERCENESS (6-1) is an interesting prospect. This will be the first go over fast dirt and that may just unlock the potential in this runner.
- #8 GENERAL PARTNER (8-1) should be competitive in this spot. He has races good enough to beat this group. This one has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here.

- #2 RIVER TIBER (3-1) didn’t draw perfectly but if he’s half the animal I think he is, it isn’t going to matter here.
- #5 MY BOY PRINCE (8-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.
- #8 UNQUESTIONABLE (4-1) gets Frankie Dettori in the irons. This one could work out a really nice run of the race from the middle of the gate.
- #14 CARSON'S RUN (6-1) looks best here. He makes sense on speed figures. This one will be rolling late and has a good closing kick that could get the job done here.

- #4 BUS BUZZ (9-5) should be competitive in this spot. He has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race. This one seems to fit well enough here.
- #6 ELECTOR (6-1) isn't without hope. He goes out for the Sadler barn and gets Ortiz in the irons. This one has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
- #2 GHOST OF MIDNIGHT (4-1) seems to be running for the minor placings in this contest. He has to be respected going out for the combination of Glatt and Fresu.
