Belmont/Aqueduct Joseph Gimma Friday Stakes Analysis

The Belmont Park at the Big A meet continues Friday with the Joseph A. Gimma Stakes. Players will find races from this meet listed under track code BAQ. Belmont is traditionally BEL, while Aqueduct is usually listed as AQU.

The Belmont race dates were moved to Aqueduct this fall to allow for renovations to Belmont Park

Belmont at Aqueduct- Race 1

Post: 2:05 PM ET; $95k Maiden Special Weight going 1 1/16 miles on turf; Entries: 10

• #1 HAY STACK (9-5) should improve off the first start and has already hit the board under these conditions.
• #9 INVEST WISELY (6-1) is well bred for this spot and likely to improve off the first start. This one has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
• #8 SUMMERTIME FUN (12-1) is a price horse and makes sense on speed figures. This one comes into the race in really good form.
• #10 MADEMOISELLEJACKIE (8-1) ran well at first asking and should take a step forward in this spot.

• #7 BEAUTIFUL KAREN (5-2) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one has races good enough to beat this group.
• #2 BOSS CARA (7-2) makes a lot of sense here on numbers.
• #6 DAME CINCO (9-5) has to be respected going out for the combination of Camejo and Rosario. This one will likely be in the first flight of runners and should be in with a chance late.
• #1 SWEET AS SUGAR (7-2) has races that make this one a player in this spot.

• #1 TODAY'S FLAVOR (6-5) has races good enough to beat this group. This one has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
• #7 OCEAN'S RESERVE (8-5) looks to be the class of the field. This one projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
• #4 CENTRAL PRIDE (10-1) is a price horse and should be part of the early pace in this spot. This one classes up well here.
• #5 CONQUIST (8-1) has back races that would fit with the group. Maybe the experience plays here.

• #8 BIG ENGINE (8-1) may benefit from a hot pace up front in a race with some speed on paper.
• #6 MAJORITY PARTNER (5-1) goes out for the Rice barn and gets Lezcano in the irons.
• #3 EXCELLENT TIMING (7-2) shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #2 FOOLISH GHOST (9-2) seems to fit well enough here and makes sense on speed figures.

• #6 INVENTING (5-2) has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
• #9 SIGNAL FROM NOISE (7-2) debuts here and has to be respected going out for the combination of Brown and Ortiz.
• #2 BEACHFRONT BID (10-1) is a price horse and looks to be the class of the field. This one runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.

• #12 DISARMED (7-2) could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
• #2 TWENTY SIX BLACK (9-2) should improve off the first start and has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
• #9 FIRE KING (4-1) should be ready to run a big one off a really productive first start.
• #15 UNCLE MARTY (4-1) is worth taking a flyer on if he can draw into the race.

• #7 ORCHESTRATION (5-2) has to be respected going out for the combination of Brown and Ortiz. This one runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here.
• #4 C FALLS (8-1) has been really solid in recent starts and should be ready to run a big one here. This one should be part of the early pace in this spot.
• #8 SHAWDYSHAWDYSHAWDY (7-2) has the top overall power rating in the group. This one has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
• #9 AIRMAN (12-1) is a price horse and seems to fit well enough here.

• #7 MIRACLE (2-1) runs evenly and should be well suited for the 7 furlongs. This one has to be respected going out for the combination of Brisset and Prat.
• #2 SECURITY CODE (3-1) should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders. This one has races good enough to beat this group.
• #4 LADY MINE (5-1) comes into the race in really good form. This one has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race.
• #6 GAMBLING GIRL (7-2) looks to be the class of the field.

Post: 6:15 PM ET; $85k Allowance going 6 furlongs on turf; Entries: 16

• #10 BUSY MORNING (5-2) has really consistent pace figures which should work well in a moderately paced race. This one shouldn't have trouble with the 6 furlong distance.
• #14 TIS A PITY (7-2) goes out for the Clement barn and gets Prat in the irons.
• #11 SINFULLY SWEET (6-1) should be sitting in the second tier of runners and looking to make one well timed run at the leaders. This one comes into the race in really good form.
• #13 DUFRESNE (10-1) is a price horse that is worth a look in this spot at a very generous price. The outside draw is a bit of a concern but at 10-1 it may be worth the risk.
