BC Classic 1 Week Away: Keeneland Fayette Stakes Analysis

One week from Saturday Keeneland will be hosting Breeders’ Cup. A week ahead of the Classic they will run the Fayette Stakes with some solid talent including First Captain.
Keeneland- Race 1
Post: 1:00 PM ET; $43k Maiden Claiming going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 8
- #2 JOAN'S WAY (8-5) gets the top selection. She has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.
- #3 ALSANAH (3-1) goes out for the Moquett barn and gets Gaffalione in the irons.
- #6 RENAE NAE (4-1) debuts here and has the pedigree to be a major player in this spot.
- #4 PACIFIC GROVE (50-1) is a price horse who probably has 0 chance to win, but but could cause havoc in the exotics.
Selections: 2 – 3 – 6 – 4
Keeneland- Race 2
Post: 1:32 PM ET; $52k Claiming going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 10
- #4 DALLAS VOLUNTEER (5-2) is the top pick. She has races good enough to beat this group. This one seems to fit well enough here.
- #8 BIG JAVA (4-1) has the top overall power rating in the group. This one looks to be the class of the field.
- #1 BAYSHORE FOXES (15-1) is a price horse and isn't without hope. She could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end. This one seems to fit well enough on class.
- #7 CANDY KICK (7-2) has been running against really good horses.
Selections: 4 – 8 – 1 – 7
Keeneland- Race 3
Post: 2:04 PM ET; $130k Allowance Optional Claiming going 1 1/16 miles on dirt; Entries: 7
- #3 LE DA VIDA (3-1) looks best here. She shouldn't have trouble with the 1 1/16 mile distance. This one may benefit from a hot pace up front.
- #5 MARIAH'S PRINCESS (7-2) goes out for the Bauer barn and gets Garcia in the irons. This one comes into the race in really good form.
- #2 WILL'S SECRET (12-1) makes sense on speed figures. This one goes out for the Lukas barn and gets Saez in the irons.
- #6 ENVOUTANTE (2-1) has races good enough to beat this group. This one has been in great form of late.
Selections: 3 – 5 – 2 – 6
Keeneland- Race 4
Post: 2:36 PM ET; $110k Allowance going 7 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 9
- #7 OLGA ISABEL (9-5) gets the top selection. She has races good enough to beat this group.
- #2 HYPERSPORT (9-2) shouldn't have trouble with the 7 furlong distance. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
- #6 MY KENTUCKY GIRL (6-1) has to be respected going out for the combination of Wong and Landeros.
- #4 BRAGANZA (7-2) should improve off the first start and makes sense off the debut speed figure.
Selections: 7 – 2 – 6 – 4
Keeneland- Race 5
Post: 3:08 PM ET; $110k Allowance going 1 1/16 miles on turf; Entries: 16
- #2 GENERAL JIM (7-2) is the top pick. He makes sense on speed figures. This one comes into the race in really good form.
- #6 OUR DREAM RYE'D (6-1) has races good enough to beat this group. This one looks to be the class of the field.
- #12 RARIFIED FLAIR (9-2) looks to be the class of the field. This one has been running really well recently.
- #16 TAPIT'S CONQUEST (5-2) shouldn't have trouble with the 1 1/16 mile distance. This one has races that could get the job done here.

Keeneland- Race 6
Post: 3:40 PM ET; $200k Bowman Mill S. going 6 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 7
- #5 SUPER CHOW (5-1) looks best here. He has races good enough to beat this group. This one has the top overall power rating in the group.
- #7 BOURBON BASH (4-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He has speed figures that would put him in the winner’s circle.
- #2 SIR LANCELOT (3-1) should be competitive in this spot. He makes sense on speed figures.
- #1 RAISE CAIN (7-2) has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
Selections: 5 – 7 – 2 – 1
Keeneland- Race 7
Post: 4:12 PM ET; $100k Maiden Special Weight going 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt; Entries: 16
- #3 SHIPMAN (10-1) is a price horse and gets the top selection. He comes into the race in really good form.
- #5 PLAUSIBLE DENILE (10-1) is a price horse and should be competitive in this spot. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.
- #8 MONTAUK POINT (10-1) is a price horse and should be competitive in this spot. He makes sense on speed figures.
- #11 CAPE TRAFALGAR (3-1) could be in with a shot in this race. He has solid early pace figures in a race that looks to lack a ton of front running speed.

Keeneland- Race 8
Post: 4:44 PM ET; $300k Bryan Station S. going 1 mile on turf; Entries: 16
- #2 BALNIKHOV (8-1) is the top pick. He runs evenly and looks to get a very fair pace scenario here. This one makes sense on speed figures.
- #16 DAKOTA GOLD (8-1) appears to be a major player in this race. He seems to fit well enough here. This one was favored in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf last year so you know there’s ability.
- #8 WIT (3-1) looks to be the class of the field. This one shouldn't have trouble with the 1 mil3 distance.
- #15 CHURCHTOWN (8-1) goes out for the Attfield barn and gets Gaffalione in the irons.
Selections: 2 – 16- 8 – 15
Keeneland- Race 9
Post: 5:16 PM ET; $350k Hagyard Fayette S. going 1 1/8 miles on dirt; Entries: 6
- #1 WEST WILL POWER (4-1) looks best here. He has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.
- #4 FIRST CAPTAIN (6-5) appears to be a major player in this race. He looks to be the class of the field. This one projects to sit mid pack and come with one run.
- #3 FULSOME (3-1) has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts. This one projects to sit mid pack and will try to pick them all off late.
- #6 LAST SAMURAI (6-1) feels like a fringe contender in this spot. He seems to fit well enough here. This one could be a dangerous threat to get loose on the front end.

Keeneland- Race 10
Post: 5:48 PM ET; $140k Allowance going 5 1/2 furlongs on turf; Entries: 13
- #1 ILLEGAL SMILE (8-5) gets the top selection. She has tactical speed and can sit just off the leaders for a stalk and pounce trip.
- #6 SPICY MARG (7-2) should be competitive in this spot. She seems to fit well enough here.
- #11 SARA MIA (15-1) is a price horse and should be competitive in this spot. She may benefit from a hot pace up front. This one has proven to be able to handle these conditions in previous starts.
- #2 MINER'S QUEEN (15-1) is a price horse and is probably best to put underneath on most tickets. She makes sense on speed figures.
