Wyndham Clark shocked the golf world last week by winning the U.S. Open for the first time. Now, the attention turns to the next event on the 2023 PGA TOUR: the Travelers Championship. The annual event will, once again, be held at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, leaving time to tell who’ll be the last man standing this weekend.
Xander Schauffele took home to Travelers Championship in 2022. It was an impressive performance as Schauffele shot 19-under-par, finishing two strokes ahead of runners-up J.T. Poston and Sahith Theegala. Will we see the first back-to-back winner at the event since Phil Mickelson accomplished the feat in 2001 and 2002?
Your friends at Betting News have all of your 2023 Travelers Championship needs covered, ranging from the latest odds to the best bets to make this weekend.

Best Bets for the 2023 Travelers Championship
Scottie Scheffler to Win Outright (+600)
When it comes to winning any given PGA tournament, it usually doesn’t hurt to put some money on Scottie Scheffler. The 27-year-old phenom has been the best player on the tour this season and his results speak for themselves.
Scheffler has entered 17 tournaments so far this season, making the cut in each one. He’s only finished outside of the top 25 once while boasting 13 top-10 finishes. Furthermore, he’s made the top five 10 times, highlighted by victories at the WM Phoenix Open and THE PLAYERS Championship.
Although he hasn’t been victorious in a few months, Scheffler has come awfully close to victory lately. He’s finished no worse than T5 in each of his last five outings, finishing T3 or with sole possession of third place in his latest three events.
Although he’s yet to win the Travelers Championship, Scheffler performed well at TPC River Highlands last year, finishing 13th while shooting 10-under-par. With how well he’s been playing this season, don’t be surprised if he makes a play to win it all.
Xander Schauffele to Finish Top 10 (+160)
It’s never wise to count out a former champion, which is why I like the idea of a Xander Schauffele top-10 finish at +160 odds.
Schauffele’s Travelers Championship history speaks for itself. On top of last year’s victory, the La Jolla, CA native has two top-20 performances in his three other appearances. He tends to get off to a hot start in Cromwell, having shot a 63 in each of the last two opening rounds.
As far as his 2023 season has gone, Schauffele has cracked the top 10 nine times in 16 events. Five of those instances occurred in his most recent seven outings with his best finish coming when he was the runner-up at the Wells Fargo Championship.
After placing T10 at the U.S. Open, Schauffele has some momentum on his side. He’s also motivated to become the first back-to-back Travelers Championship winner in over 20 years, which is why I see him having a decent showing this week.
Dark Horse Pick: Harry English to Win Outright (+7000)
For a little dark horse fun, I recommend Harry English winning outright at +7000 odds as an intriguing option.
Although he started off the 2023 PGA TOUR slowly, English has turned things around in recent months. He’s placed T13 or better in six of his last 13 events and even came close to winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational, ending the event with T2 honors after finishing just one stroke behind Kurt Kitayama for first place.
English has also finished T3 at the Wells Fargo Championship last month and just had a T8 showing at last week’s U.S. Open. He’s clearly playing his best golf of the season right now and the fact that he’s available at +7000 odds is a shock. If anything, I thought his odds would be a bit shorter.
It may take a lot of things to fall into place for it to happen, but English has a legitimate shot at making some noise at the Travelers Championship.
