Last week, Scottie Scheffler made a resounding statement about his status as the best golfer in the world with a four-stroke win at the Masters. There’s no rest for the world number one this week as he and the likes of Rory McIlroy, Masters runner-up Ludvig Aberg, and Xander Schauffele are in the field for the RBC Heritage, the fifth signature event on the 2024 PGA Tour season schedule.
This week’s tournament, which is annually held at Harbour Town Golf Links on South Carolina’s Hilton Head Island, is one of two signature events that will follow a major this season (the U.S. Open is both preceded and followed by signature events).
Last year, Matt Fitzpatrick defeated Jordan Spieth in a playoff to pick up his second and most recent PGA Tour win. Spieth was attempting to join the late Payne Stewart, Davis Love III, and Boo Weekley as the only golfers to win the RBC Heritage in consecutive years, but he came up short.
Scheffler, McIlroy, Aberg, Schauffele, Fitzpatrick, and Spieth are all among the leading favorites to finish atop the leaderboard this week.
Who else is highly thought of by oddsmakers? Let’s take a look at the upper echelon of RBC Heritage tournament odds, courtesy of BetOnline.

Who Are the Favorites to Win the RBC Heritage?
Scottie Scheffler (+510)
Can Scheffler go back-to-back for the second time this season? Last month, he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship in consecutive weeks.
Xander Schauffele (+1200)
Schauffele’s eighth-place finish at the Masters was his seventh top-ten finish in nine events this season. If not for a bogey on his final hole on Sunday, he would have joined Scheffler, Tommy Fleetwood, and Cameron Smith as the only players to shoot par or better in all four rounds.
Will the success he is having this season translate into a win at some point?
Ludvig Aberg (+1600)
Aberg’s rapid rise continued with his runner-up finish at Augusta. The 24-year-old, who is now ranked seventh in the world, has posted strong finishes in a couple of other notable events this season, coming in second in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and eighth in the Players Championship.
Patrick Cantlay (+1800)
Cantlay has finished in the top ten only once in eight events this season. But he finished third in the RBC Heritage last year (one stroke behind Fitzpatrick and Spieth) and lost out to Spieth in the playoff in 2022.
Collin Morikawa (+2200)
At Augusta, Morikawa finished tied for third, his second top-five finish in eight events this season. He hasn’t much success in the RBC Heritage, finishing inside the top ten only once (a tie for seventh in 2021). Will he change that this week?
Tommy Fleetwood (+2200)
Can Fleetwood contend and finish in the top ten for a third straight week? After a tie for seventh at the Valero Texas Open, he was part of a three-way tie for third, along with Morikawa and Max Homa.
