Tomorrow morning, one of the most storied events in sports will commence at Augusta National Golf Club, as the 2024 Masters will get underway.
The field will start with 89 players, but come Sunday evening, only one will be able to don the winner’s green jacket.
Will it be someone who has experienced the feeling before? The three most recent winners, Jon Rahm (2023), Scottie Scheffler (2022), and Hideki Matsuyama (2021) are all among the top six Masters betting favorites, according to the latest Masters odds at BetOnline.
Or will it be someone who has yet to experience the feeling of winning at Augusta or even winning a major? Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy have nine major titles between them, but none are at Augusta. Could this be Xander Schauffele’s major breakthrough? He has been in good form in the first three months of the PGA Tour season.
Without further ado, let’s get to the picks, shall we?

2024 Masters Tournament Winner Prediction & Best Bets
Tournament Winner Pick: Will Zalatoris (+4000)
Scheffler is the best golfer in the world right now, and he may not relinquish that title anytime soon.
But I’m looking beyond one of the leading favorites for my tournament winner pick this week.
In his first Masters appearance three years ago, Zalatoris finished second behind Matsuyama, finishing just one stroke behind after being six behind with only four holes remaining. He followed that performance with a tie for sixth in 2022, finishing seven strokes behind Scheffler.
But what could have been a huge 2023 for Zalatoris ended up being cut short due to back surgery last April.
He’s now healthy, and while he is still shaking off some rust, strong showings at the Genesis Invitational (tied for second) and Arnold Palmer Invitational (tied for fourth) indicate that he is on the right track. What better way to really show that he’s back than by winning the Masters?
2024 Masters Finishing Position Picks
Brooks Koepka to finish in the top ten (+225)
Koepka has finished in the top ten in nearly half of his major appearances (18 of 38), and in four others, he finished inside the top 15 but not top 10.
Wyndham Clark to finish in the top 20 (+135)
Clark, last year’s U.S. Open winner, is making his Masters debut. Can he make a big splash?
Clark ($7,951,009) is second to Scheffler ($11,493,235) on this season’s money list and has bagged some pretty notable checks. He won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February ($3.6 million), and he finished second and tied for second at the Arnold Palmer Invitational ($2.2 million) and Players Championship (almost $1.9 million).
Those are his lone top-ten finishes in his first eight races, but posting those kinds of results in some of the PGA Tour’s marquee events make him a great pick to post a high finish.
Justin Thomas to finish in the top 20 (+175)
After opening the season by finishing tied for third, tied for sixth, and tied for 12th in his first three tournaments, Thomas has only one decent finish (a tie for 12th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational) and two missed cuts in four events.
But experience can often come in handy at the Masters, and I think he will have a solid week, even if he doesn’t contend for the win. Thomas has finished in the top 20 four times in his last six Masters appearances, including a fourth-place finish in 2020.
