Last April, Scottie Scheffler claimed his first major title by winning the Masters by three strokes over Rory McIlroy. This week, the world number one will look to become only the fourth person to go back-to-back at Augusta.
Entering last year’s tournament, Scheffler had been on a tear, winning the WM Phoenix Open, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play across February and March.
This year, Scheffler has already made it back-to-back wins at both the WM Phoenix Open and the Players Championship. If he can make it a trio come Sunday, he will join Jack Nicklaus (1965 and 1966), Nick Faldo (1989 and 1990), and Tiger Woods (2001 and 2002) as the only players to win the Masters in consecutive years.
Scheffler is a leading favorite this week, as one might expect. But he will have some very stiff competition if he wants to etch his name into the history books.
With the action in Augusta set to tee off tomorrow, here’s a look at the odds for this year’s Masters, with our predictions and best bets for the tournament below as well.

Predictions & Best Bets for the 2023 Masters
Who will win the green jacket this year?
Scheffler may be the defending champion and the man to beat, but history is very much not on his side.
With that in mind, I’m backing Rahm to win his second major title. Things have gone well for Scheffler so far this year, but they have gone well for Rahm as well.
In 2022, he finished tied for 27th at Augusta, which was part of his year in which he failed to finish in the top ten in any of the majors and won only one PGA Tour event.
But he is back to winning ways in 2023, with three wins to his name in this calendar year at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, the American Express, and the Genesis Invitational.
To date, Rahm’s highest finish at Augusta is a fourth-place finish in 2018. I feel very good about his chances to better that this week.
Best Bet for the 2023 Masters: Jon Rahm to win the tournament (Best Value: +950 @ Bovada Sportsbook)
