2023 Barbasol Championship Best Bets
Lucas Glover to Win Outright (+2000)
Without the majority of the PGA’s top names competing in Nicholasville this week, veteran Lucas Glover is one of the top picks to win the 2023 Barbasol Championship.
Although it’s been over two years since Glover last won a tournament, don’t let that deter you from siding with him. The 43-year-old is in the midst of his best run of the 2023 PGA TOUR, racking up three top-20 finishes in his last four outings.
In fact, Glover’s best performances of the season came in his two most recent events. He finished T4 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic before placing T6 at last year’s John Deere Classic. While he wasn’t the last man standing at either one, the pair of performances give him solid momentum ahead of this week’s festivities.
Although Glover has yet to compete at Keene Trace Golf Club, his recent momentum can’t be denied. He’s at least going to make things interesting while keeping things competitive in Kentucky until the very end.
Kevin Streelman to Finish Top 10 (+300)
Another bet worth considering this week is to take Kevin Streelman finishing inside the top 10 at +300 odds.
Streelman nearly came away with the title at the 2022 Barbasol Championship, finishing in second place to Mullinax. The 44-year-old was consistent throughout the event, shooting a 67 over better in all four rounds. He impressively finished 24-under-par, just one stroke back of the victor.
Although his 2023 campaign is nothing to write home about, Streelman did at least finish T9 at Charles Schwab Challenge back in May. He hasn’t had a performance like that any other time this year, however, he has a better chance now with the weaker field.
With experience at the Keene Trace Golf Club in his back pocket, don’t be surprised if Streelman cracks the top 10 again — or better.
Taylor Pendrith to Finish Top 20 (+110)
Taylor Pendrith is another golfer worth keeping an eye on at the Barbasol Championship.
Pendrith is coming off a solid Rocket Mortgage Classic performance that saw him finish T14 by going 17-under-par. That wasn’t his first top-20 finish though, also having accomplished the feat at the RSM Classic (T15), AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (T7), and Zurich Classic of New Orleans (T13).
Furthermore, Pendrith’s history at the Keene Trace Golf Club further supports this betting option. He’s entered the event twice, T11 in 2021 before placing T13 last year. Assuming the trend continues, there’s quite a good chance that Pendrith makes good on this bet yet again.
