Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Fight Preview
Even though Mike Tyson has considerably more boxing experience, it’s Jake Paul who’s the clear-cut favorite in July. The 27-year-old’s -260 moneyline odds carry an implied probability of 72.2%, which is a lot higher than most people would’ve expected.
After Netflix announced that it was going to air a live Paul boxing match, it was revealed in March that the Cleveland, OH native would be facing none other than Tyson. Despite the uphill battle seemingly ahead of him, Paul said that he chose to fight the former heavyweight champion because of what it’d mean for the former’s legacy.
As annoying as many people find Paul (there are a lot of them), he’s put together a decent boxing career. He’s gone 9-1 through his first 10 professional bouts, winning six of those outings by knockout. He most recently notched a first-round TKO victory over Ryan Bourland back in March.
Having said that, Paul hasn’t come close to fighting anyone on Tyson’s level. Although he’s proven to be a solid boxer, his win list is largely composed of former MMA fighters, a fellow YouTuber, and former NBA player Nate Robinson. Not exactly the who’s who of the boxing world.
Will Jake Paul survive eight rounds with Mike Tyson?
At the same time, time will reveal how much Tyson truly has left in the tank. Nobody can doubt his legacy, but it’s no secret that he hasn’t been around the ring much over the last two decades. His last professional boxing match came in 2005 when he faced Kevin McBride, losing via retirement. The last time he fought anyone came when he fought Roy Jones Jr. to a draw nearly four years ago.
Nevertheless, Tyson has been posting his usual boxing training videos to social media and it’s safe to say that he still looks like a beast. Even though he’ll be 58 by the time July rolls around, it’s clear that “The Baddest Man on the Planet” shouldn’t be underestimated.
Tyson might not have the speed or cardio that he once did, but the power is still there. If Paul forgets that, he might suffer his first-ever KO/TKO loss.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Prop Bets & Betting Trends
As of May 3, Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson prop bets are currently unavailable on BetOnline. Once those are available, I’ll update this section.
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Prediction & Best Bet
For the time being, I’m willing to back a Mike Tyson upset in July. I know that Jake Paul is capable of winning this fight, but I’m unsure of how I feel about his sitting at -260 odds on the moneyline. There’s some decent value at +200 if Tyson can pull off the upset and judging by his training videos, I think he has at least one more knockout in him.
Until prop bets are available, we’ll stick with a straight bet.
