Bryan brings an unbeaten record
Trevor Bryan is the unbeaten WBA world champion who has worked tirelessly to earn his title and won’t be willing to give it up without a fight.
The American heavyweight from New York boasts a stunning CV detailing 22 wins from as many starts, with 15 of his previous opponents failing to hear the final bell.
The 32-year-old from Schenectady stands 6’4”, and as well as his imposing size, frightening 68% KO average and unbeaten record, Bryan also boasts the support of the crowd with the US fighter cheered on by a full house in Miami.
This matchup with Dubois is his chance to collect another crucial victory and edge himself up the rankings, closer to Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Last five results for Trevor Bryan
- Won on points
- TKO win in the 11th round
- Won via TKO in the fourth round
- TKO win in the third round
- TKO win in the third round
Bryan won the WBA title in 2021 with a shock 11thround TKO win over Bermane Stiverne, the former world title challenger who famously took Wilder the distance, being the first man to achieve that feat before he was KO’d in the rematch.
He took Bryan into the later rounds but was caught late in the contest, with Trevor winning the vacant strap in style, knocking his opponent down twice.
His first and only defence of that title came when Bryan beat Jonathan Guidry on points over 12 rounds in earlier this year.
That was a split decision, and the fight gave followers more late drama, with the champion needing a last round knockdown to ensure he snuck across the line as the winner, safeguarding the belt.
A look through the American’s recent form shows that his last two bouts have gone into the latter stages, lasting at least 11 rounds.
That shows he has the power to get rid of opponents at any stage of the contest, but it also shows he has the fitness to go the distance and impress the scoring judges if that’s what is required.
Triple D is in town
Daniel Dubois may not be a major name in boxing to the US audience, but all that could change if he wins this fight in Miami and returns to London with the WBA title strapped around his waist.
The 24-year-old rates as one of the most exciting prospects in British boxing and followers are intrigued to see how far this big-punching star can go.
The Londoner has won 17 and lost one bout ahead of this outing, with 16 wins coming by KO. He is ranked number six in the United Kingdom and 20 globally, but that will change with a convincing win and another hard-hitting performance before a new audience.
Last five fights for Daniel Dubois
- Won via KO in the first round
- Won via KO in the second round
- Lost via KO in the tenth round
- Won via KO in the second round

Back Dubois to bag the belt in Miami
Dubois has suffered one defeat already with the spare on his card inflicted by Joe Joyce in 2020 when the Juggernaut KO’d his city rival in round 10 of a bout scheduled for 10.
Many trusted sources expected DDD to win that fight, but he was out-boxed, out-fought and out-classed by an opponent who has the skills, size and power to become world champion.
That night in London, the beaten man was forced to take a knee after suffering what later proved to be a broken eye socket, but he got back on the horse and didn’t let one loss derail his plans.
Dubois got back to winning ways with a pair of KO victories in round two and round one but faces a step up in class of opponent here. But it is a challenge that he will be ready for. Expect him to leave Miami with the belt after handing Bryan his first defeat in knockout fashion.
